Meaning: Drew the line refers to the readable lines in Cain’s palm. The mark was passed on from generation to generation because it was God who did it. God does not act on a whim –whatever He does is permanent and everlasting.

Drew the line also indicates that He did this to make clear to Cain and to everyone the severity of the crime that Cain committed – this is where He drew the line. It also indicates that it is cold-blooded crimes like this that makes people go to hell.

It made his life a living hell means that since Cain did not show remorse for his act, having this mark was a way for him to be constantly reminded that what he did was wrong.

The bible says that the mark was to protect him. Indirectly, it did. It protected him from going to hell as he was given an opportunity to repent and it also protected him from being harmed by others in fear of what God may do to them.

Question: So, can people really read our entire past and future by reading the palm?

God’s answer:

prominent lines
You are not pronounced

Meaning: Our palms can still be read but only a hint of our past and future, personality, etc. can be derived.
